Dr A Guan Lim qualified in 1987 from Bristol University and received his specialist postgraduate training in London at St Georgeís Hospital and The Royal London Hospital. His MD research was into primary biliary cirrhosis and he was awarded a Young Investigator Prize by the Mayo Clinic. He has published in various aspects of gastroenterology including helicobacter pylori infection and inflammatory bowel disease. He specializes in gastroenterology and hepatology. He consults on patients suffering from abdominal pain, altered bowel habits, swallowing and digestive problems,jaundice and liver problems. He has extensive experience in the management of Inflammatory bowel diseases (ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease), irritable bowel syndrome, ulcer diseae, reflux disease, viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease and autoimmune liver disease. He is a member of the upper gastrointestinal cancer team and performs colonoscopies to check for bowel cancer.

He is a highly experienced endoscopist and offers flexible sigmoidoscopy, gastroscopy and colonoscopy both for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

He is the only local gastroenterologist to offer non-invasive Fibroscan services to look for liver damage.

He is a senior Consultant Gastroenterologist and Physician at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. He is also the Clinical Director for Medicine. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St Georgeís Hospital Medical School.
